Belt Drive Turntable
The GT2 is the evolution of the original Raven GT. In the revised version, it has evolved from an entry-level model to a thoroughbred high-end drive that easily serves as a precise basis for large tonearms and pickups in a small space. The engine control of the GT2 is integrated into the solid aluminum base, so that no one has to look for a parking space for an external device. The power connector and hard power switch are located on the back of the turntable. The basic design already has a combat weight of more than 16 kg. It rests on three sensitively height-adjustable feet made of stainless steel. The real eye-catcher, however, is undoubtedly the GT2’s new plate. The sandwich construction made of a heavy special plastic and a bronze alloy weighs 13.6 kg. As with the AC models, the surface of the plate is not painted and will take on patina over time. If you want to preserve the shine of the new bronze, you should wipe it regularly with a metal polishing cloth and, if necessary, use polish.
The GT2 can accommodate two tonearms. The new device comes with a universal tonearm base that contains a stainless steel inlet to match the desired tonearm. Part of the new GT2 is the very simple adjustment of the tonearm base, which is designed for the common tonearm geometries. In terms of sound, the GT2 plays with enormous precision, with crisp bass and a control that is otherwise only known from direct drives. If you would like to let your foot tap along with the music, this is the place for you.
